Tartan Frock Outreach Workshops

South Area Youths from Govan will get the opportunity to work with Confab Theatre to take part in 6 weeks of music workshops to create the Sound Track for My Fabulous Tartan Frock. The show which brings local women together from all over the City, explores issues of domestic violence will be running at the Arches in December 2009.

Picture It

A five week photography project exploring simple photographic methods and experimenting with mixed media culminating in a final exhibition at the 16 days of action event at the Pearce Institute on 9th December.  Work will be based on the themes of freedom and liberation, exploring how it feels to escape from the ties of abuse. No photographic or art experience necessary, just a willingness to explore your creativity and have fun!

Venue: Govan New Church Hall, just across from Govan subway and bus station, above Unity Charity shop

South West 16 Days Tartan Frock Showcase

A culmination of local project work topped by a theatre extract from Confab theatre's Tartan Frock which has been written, devised and performed by and in partnership with local women from all over the city including 3 from Govan.   There will also be an exhibition of photographs taken by local women expressing their feelings about violence against women, a presentation of work with local youths, stalls and nibbles to suit all tastes.
